UV laser marking machine

Flying UV coder · 3–10 W

In-line coding onto a moving conveyor, reaching 200 m/min on single-line 2 mm characters. A JPT pulsed UV source in a 660 × 510 × 1460 mm cabinet, about 89 kg including the chiller. Air-cooled or with an external industrial water chiller, depending on the configuration.

Desktop UV marker · 3–20 W

A floor-standing cabinet at 800 × 660 × 1425 mm and about 100 kg, configured with a DXT, Maiman or JPT pulsed UV source, a dual red-light metal galvanometer, an industrial PC and a display. This format carries the widest power range and the finest line width.

Handheld UV marker · 3–5 W

A cordless unit on a 24 V lithium battery for 2–3 hours of use, built around a CRS pulsed UV source. The head weighs 8 kg and the complete machine 11.85 kg, with a 100 × 100 mm field and red-light preview focusing.

Built for Heat-Sensitive Materials

At 355 nm the pulse acts on the surface with very little heat transfer into the part, so the mark forms with almost no heat-affected zone — usable on glass, silicon, sapphire, thin ceramics and polymer films that a longer wavelength would scorch or crack.

What It Is

What Is a UV Laser Marking Machine?

A UV laser marking machine takes a 1064 nm fiber or solid-state beam and converts it to 355 nm in the third harmonic, then steers that short-wavelength pulse across the part with a galvanometer scanner. Because the shorter wavelength is absorbed in a very thin surface layer, the mark is produced with minimal heat spreading into the material, which is what makes it usable on glass, wafers and thin plastic film. The same source is supplied in three formats — a flying coder over a conveyor, a desktop cabinet for batch work, and a cordless handheld unit.

UV vs fiber — 355 nm suits glass, plastics and heat-sensitive parts; fiber at 1064 nm is the choice for bare metal.
