Pulsed Laser Cleaning
A pulsed 1064 nm fiber source lifts rust, paint, oil and oxide off the surface while leaving the substrate intact. We supply the backpack-portable format at 50 W and 100 W, plus a 100 W air-cooled cabinet unit — all air-cooled, with no chiller or water loop to plumb in.

Three configurations run off the same pulsed 1064 nm source. Choose by where the work happens — out on a job site, or at a fixed cleaning station.

Backpack unit — 50 W
The chassis carries a shoulder strap, so the operator works with both hands free off an external battery. 318 × 285 × 127 mm and 7.8 kg, with a scanning head under 1.5 kg on a 3 m fiber.
Backpack unit — 100 W
The same portable format at double the average power, with pulse energy to 1.5 mJ and a 20–200 kHz repetition range. 359.5 × 380 × 152 mm and 10.5 kg.
Air-cooled cabinet — 100 W
A 45 kg floor unit with a 0–150 mm adjustable scanning width and a 5 m fiber, suited to a fixed station rather than field work. Air-cooled on 220 V.
Why Pulsed
Low Heat Input, Substrate Left Intact
A pulsed beam delivers energy in short bursts, so the contamination layer absorbs it and lifts off before heat spreads into the base metal. That is what separates pulsed cleaning from continuous-wave cleaning.
The 50 W unit runs 45–170 kHz and the 100 W unit 20–200 kHz, so pulse spacing can be tuned to the coating rather than fixed by the machine.
Short pulses — 100 ± 10 ns on the 50 W unit, 180 ± 10 ns on the 100 W unit — keep the heat-affected zone small on thin sheet and precision parts.
The pulsed source is rated at roughly 50,000 working hours, with no abrasive, no solvent and no consumable media to reorder.
A tight beam through a 2D galvo head over a 100 × 100 mm field, with 160 mm and 254 mm focal lengths available for different standoff distances.

What Is a Pulsed Laser Cleaning Machine?
A pulsed laser cleaning machine directs a pulsed 1064 nm fiber beam through a galvo scanning head onto the surface being cleaned. Each pulse is absorbed by the rust, paint, oil or oxide layer, which vaporises or flakes away, while the metal underneath reflects most of the energy and stays well below the temperature at which it would discolor or distort. Nothing touches the part, no chemical is applied and no grit is fired at it, so the only waste stream is the removed contaminant itself. Because power, repetition rate and scan width are all set by the operator, the same machine handles a light oil film and a heavy rust scale by changing parameters rather than tooling.

The 100 W air-cooled cabinet unit is specified separately under Formats. Cleaning rate depends on the contaminant, its thickness and the substrate, so we size the power level against a sample or a photograph of the actual part.
