Handheld Laser Welding
A handheld laser welder delivers a focused fiber-laser beam through a hand-held gun to melt and fuse metal directly at the joint. Compared with traditional TIG and MIG arc welding, it concentrates heat in a narrow zone, which means faster travel speed, minimal warping on thin material, and clean seams that often need little or no grinding.

Range
Models & Configurations
Three cooling and power builds on one shared platform — pick by duty cycle, portability and material thickness.

800W–1500W, air-cooled
Portable / outdoor work; no chiller; wide ambient range

1500W, water-cooled
Chiller-cooled 1500W for sustained, continuous production

2000W–3000W, water-cooled
Thicker material, higher speed, heavy-duty cycles
Cooling
Air-Cooled vs Water-Cooled
Every handheld build runs the same 0.5 kg gun and 7-inch touchscreen — what changes is how it sheds heat, and that sets your power ceiling, portability and duty cycle.
800 / 1000 / 1500 W
No chiller to carry — the lightest, most mobile build. Made for on-site and outdoor work, rooftops and job-shop fabrication where you move between tasks. Welds stainless, carbon steel, galvanised, aluminum and brass in thin-to-medium gauge.
- Weld thicknessup to 6.5 mm
- PortabilityHighest — no chiller
- Duty cycleIntermittent / job-shop
1500 / 2000 / 3000 W
From 1500 W upward, a built-in water chiller holds the gun cool under sustained load, so you can run heavier gauge, faster, for longer. The 3000 W build pairs with a 4000 W-rated gun for 7 mm welding all day without stopping.
- Weld thicknessup to 7 mm
- PortabilityModerate — chiller on board
- Duty cycleAll-day continuous
| Feature | Air-cooled | Water-cooled |
|---|---|---|
| Power range | 800 / 1000 / 1500 W | 1500 / 2000 / 3000 W |
| Weld thickness | up to 6.5 mm | up to 7 mm (3000 W) |
| Portability | Highest — no chiller | Moderate — chiller on board |
| Continuous duty | Intermittent / job-shop | All-day, non-stop |
| Climate fit | Most climates; safe in sub-zero (no coolant to freeze) | Best in very hot ambient; not for sub-zero (freeze risk) |
| Best for | On-site, outdoor, light–medium fabrication | Heavy-gauge, high-speed production |
Only the handheld line offers this air-vs-water choice — the 3000 W water-cooled build uses a 4000 W-rated gun for continuous 7 mm welding. 1500 W is offered in both air- and water-cooled builds.
Why This Gun
Built for Real Production
Every configuration ships with the features that keep a handheld welder productive on the floor.
Adjustable wobble for seam width control
Continuous and pulsed for thin to thick joints
Stepper-motor feeding for stable gap filling
Rotating dual lens for extended consumable life
What It Is
What Is a Handheld Laser Welder?
The gun supports adjustable beam wobble (0–5 mm; 0–3 mm on the 800 W air-cooled build) and both continuous and pulsed modes, so it handles everything from thin sheet to thicker structural joints. It can weld autogenously (no filler) or with wire feeding for gap filling and build-up. A 4-wheel stepper-motor wire feeder draws wire precisely and stably, and the rotating dual protective lens extends consumable life well beyond single-use lenses.

Welding thickness by power and cooling
| Power | Stainless / Carbon / Galvanized | Aluminum | Brass |
|---|---|---|---|
| 800 W (air-cooled — peak single-pass) | ≤ 3.5 mm | ≤ 3 mm | ≤ 2.5 mm |
| 1000 W (air-cooled — peak single-pass) | ≤ 4.5 mm | ≤ 4 mm | ≤ 3.5 mm |
| 1500 W (air-cooled — peak single-pass) | ≤ 6.5 mm | ≤ 5.5 mm | ≤ 4.5 mm |
| 1500 W (water-cooled — continuous-duty rated) | 3 mm | 3 mm | 2 mm |
| 2000 W (water-cooled — continuous-duty rated) | 5 mm | 5 mm | — |
| 3000 W (water-cooled — continuous-duty rated) | 7 mm | 7 mm | — |
Water-cooled builds extend capacity further: the 2000 W build welds up to 5 mm across stainless, carbon, galvanized and aluminum; the 3000 W configuration pairs with a 4000 W-rated gun to weld up to 7 mm on continuous, all-day production. Aluminum welds with both 5356 and 4043 wire (1.0–1.2 mm). Figures are self-fusion guidance; actual capacity varies with joint fit-up and setup. Air-cooled figures are peak single-pass depth; water-cooled figures are rated for continuous-duty welding — choose by duty cycle and climate, not by peak depth alone.
Penetration is material- and power-dependent. For full per-configuration figures, see 1000W–1500W laser welders and 2000W–3000W laser welders. Penetration values are max single-pass, material-dependent; continuous-duty figures are available on request.
Applications
Applications & Use Cases
Handheld laser welders suit thin-to-medium metalwork where appearance and low distortion matter:
Carbon steel
Stainless steel
Aluminum
Battery / new energy
Mold repairThey work equally well on a fixed bench and for on-site repair.
Comparison
Comparison & Selection Guide
Which configuration fits your work — and why our handheld welders compare well with typical handheld units on the market:

0.5 kg welding gun
Light enough to hold steady through long production runs.

Rotating protective lens
One lens reused 6+ times vs single-use — lower consumable cost.

4-wheel wire feed
Stepper-motor drive vs 2-wheel — more stable, precise wire delivery.

Built-in storage
Gun holder plus enclosed body-case — protects the gun from knocks and dust.

System Linkage Control Wire Feeder
Easy to operate, one control system for main machine and wire feeder

Gas-pressure monitoring
Real-time low-pressure alerts safeguard weld quality.
Against traditional TIG/MIG, handheld laser welding offers a narrower heat-affected zone, less distortion, higher travel speed and far less post-weld grinding.
