These applications share one demand: the contamination has to go, but the part itself, often a precision surface, must come through untouched.

Applications & Use Cases
Oxide removal is the bread-and-butter case. Heat scale and oxidation build up on steel from welding, forming and heat treatment, and a laser lifts that layer cleanly to leave sound metal ready for the next step. Weld-seam cleaning runs either side of welding — stripping the joint to bare metal beforehand so the weld goes down clean, and clearing discoloration and light spatter afterwards. Both benefit from the beam’s selectivity: it takes the oxide, not the steel.
How It Works
Mold tooling is the most demanding of the three. Injection, die-casting and forming molds collect release agent, carbon and residue in fine detail and vents, and that has to be removed without rounding edges, scratching the cavity or changing a dimension. Because the laser is non-contact and controllable, laser cleaning mold tooling reaches detail that a brush or abrasive cannot, and it does so without the wear that mechanical cleaning inflicts on expensive tooling.
