A MOPA fiber source marks the same metals and engineered plastics as a standard fiber unit, but with one extra lever: a pulse you can tune.
Why It Works
MOPA sources let you adjust the pulse width in nanoseconds. That control is what produces clean black on anodized aluminum and real color on stainless, and it keeps heat low for fine detail. Maxphotonics-type sources are a common, well-supported choice for this kind of work.
Built to Last
The beam changes the surface itself, so nothing is added on top. The result will not smear, peel or wash off. It holds up to heat, oil, solvents and years of handling.
Specs That Matter
MOPA shares the fiber platform — 1064 nm, air-cooled, F-theta field. The pulse range and configuration are matched to your color or fine-marking job, and exact specifications are available on request.
Where It Fits
Color and grayscale marking on stainless, black-on-black on anodized parts, fine IDs and high-contrast detail. For straight metal IDs and codes, a standard fiber head is usually the better-value pick.
