Overview
Hallmarking puts a small, exact, permanent mark on a precious-metal piece — purity, maker and sometimes a serial. Laser does it cleanly, without the force of a stamp that can distort a thin piece.
Why Laser Hallmarking Works
Unlike a struck stamp, a laser mark adds no mechanical force, so delicate or hollow pieces aren’t deformed. Fiber and MOPA place crisp, consistent marks at very small sizes, and the same recipe repeats exactly across a batch — which is what consistent hallmarking demands.
Built to Last
The mark is in the metal itself, permanent through wear and cleaning, and legible under magnification for verification.
Specs That Matter
Fiber/MOPA 1064 nm, low power, ±0.002 mm repeat accuracy, small fields for fine stamps, rotary axis for curved pieces.
How to Hallmark
- Fixture the piece and set the focus.
- Load the hallmark set (purity, maker, serial) and set low-heat parameters.
- Run a sample, check legibility under magnification, then save the recipe.
- Mark the batch with repeat positioning.
- Verify each mark and log first-article approval.
