UV Laser Marking — Source Configuration

UV laser marking machine

Overview

A UV machine is built around a 355 nm cold-marking source — the right choice when the part can’t take heat, or when the detail has to be extremely fine.

Why the 355 nm Source Works

UV marks cold by breaking surface bonds, not melting. Heat-sensitive plastics, glass, ceramics and silicon stay safe, and the very small focused spot holds detail down to a 0.01 mm line width — fine enough for wafers, LCD and sapphire.

Desktop Configurations

The desktop build runs a 355 nm source at 3W to 20W, water-cooled (a chiller is included; lower-power builds can be air-cooled). One sub-series uses an industrial JPT solid-state UV source; higher-power builds use an industrial DXT or Maiman UV source, configured to the job. For curved, stepped or irregular parts, a 3D-galvo UV variant adds a deep focal range (up to 150 mm within a 200 mm field).

How a Job Is Set Up

  1. Load the part and set the focus distance for the lens.
  2. Import the mark file and set pulse, speed and frequency.
  3. Run a sample on scrap, check contrast and edge detail, then save the recipe.
  4. Fix the jig for repeat positioning and start the batch.
  5. Inspect the mark and log first-article approval.

CE Compliance

CE-marked, with conformity documentation available on request. We never claim SASO, SABER, GCC or UKCA we do not hold.

Getting It Right Before You Buy

Send us a part. We mark it on the UV build we’d quote, show you the detail, then quote against it.
