Colour Laser Marking

Overview

Color marking turns a steel surface into a palette — without ink, paint or coating. The color is the metal’s own oxide layer, shifted by the laser.

How the Color Forms

A MOPA source lets you tune the pulse in nanoseconds. On stainless steel that control shifts the surface oxide to produce blues, golds, browns and deep blacks. Because the color is set by pulse and speed, it repeats exactly once the recipe is locked.

Built to Last

Nothing is added on top of the part. The color is a change in the metal itself, so it resists abrasion and handling — though, like any oxide-layer color, very harsh wear and some chemicals can affect it over time.

Specs That Matter

Color work runs on the fiber/MOPA platform at 1064 nm, with the pulse range and speed matched to the finish you want. Exact configuration is available on request, because color depends heavily on the alloy and surface.

How to Set Up a Color Job

  1. Mount the stainless part and set the focus.
  2. Load a color recipe and set pulse width, speed and frequency.
  3. Run a swatch, check the color against your target.
  4. Lock the recipe and start the batch.
  5. Inspect color consistency and log approval.
