Why Fiber & MOPA Work on Stainless
A fiber beam at 1064 nm marks stainless by annealing (a smooth black oxide), etching contrast, or engraving depth. A MOPA source tunes the pulse for a corrosion-safe black anneal that stays intact through cleaning — the reason medical and food-equipment makers specify it.
Built to Last
The mark is in the steel surface itself, not on top, so it won’t smear, peel or wash off, and it holds up to heat, solvents and years of handling.
Specs That Matter
Fiber/MOPA 1064 nm, 20W–100W, up to 10,000 mm/s, ±0.002 mm repeat accuracy, fields 100–300 mm. Black-anneal favours MOPA; deep IDs favour higher power.
How to Mark Stainless
- Load the part and set the focus distance for the lens.
- Choose anneal, etch or engrave and set pulse, speed and frequency.
- Run a sample, check contrast and corrosion-safe finish, then save the recipe.
- Fix the jig for repeat positioning and start the batch.
- Scan the codes and log first-article approval.
