Handheld Laser Cleaner — Power Selection Guide

A handheld laser cleaner brings the beam to the part — no fixturing, no station, no consumables. All handheld formats run on pulsed fiber: the air-cooled design keeps the unit light enough to carry and the power safe to use without a chiller.

Two Real Pulsed Formats

Pulsed 50 W — lightest, most precise. Thin rust, oxide layers, delicate surfaces, cultural heritage, mould cavities. Minimal substrate effect. Pulsed 100 W — higher throughput while staying air-cooled and portable. Heavier rust on structural work, weld pre-treatment in the field, coating removal on large fabrications.

How to Choose Between 50 W and 100 W

Choose 50 W when: the surface is thin (oxide, light rust, conservation work) or substrate damage tolerance is very low. Choose 100 W when: you need faster passes on heavier rust or thicker coatings, and portability is still a requirement.
