Overview

Aluminum marks two ways: bare aluminum takes a crisp fiber mark, and anodized aluminum takes a deep-black MOPA mark that’s a favourite for premium product branding.

Why Fiber & MOPA Work on Aluminum

On bare aluminum a fiber beam leaves a clean light-gray-to-dark contrast. On anodized aluminum a MOPA source removes or darkens the anodized layer for a sharp deep-black mark — the look on premium electronics and tools.

Built to Last

The mark is in the surface itself, not on top, so it won’t smear, peel or wash off, and it holds up to handling, solvents and years of service.

Specs That Matter

Fiber/MOPA 1064 nm, 20W–100W, up to 10,000 mm/s, ±0.002 mm repeat accuracy, fields 100–300 mm. Anodized-black favours MOPA; bare aluminum works across the range.

How to Mark Aluminum

  1. Load the part and set the focus distance for the lens.
  2. Choose the effect (contrast on bare, black on anodized) and set parameters.
  3. Run a sample, check contrast and edge sharpness, then save the recipe.
  4. Fix the jig for repeat positioning and start the batch.
  5. Scan the codes and log first-article approval.
